Didyma is a network documentation and monitoring tool.
Didyma contains a graphical interface to design and
document your computer networks.
A Didyma model is built upon four main components:
- nodes (PC's, workstations, routers, ...)
- segments
- interfaces (Ethernet, serial, ...)
- connections (LAN, wan, ...)
and two types of additional components:
- balloons, used to represent properties (like IP address,
node name, ..) of an object in the drawing
- memo's, which are free text objects for documentation
purposes.
Didyma has AutoConnect and AutoDiscover features for
rapid model development.
Didyma is also a network monitoring tool based on ICMP
(ping), TCP ports, POP3, SNMP objects, URL and SMTP testing:
- It gives a graph of the status of the nodes in your
network, including its history.
- It will raise an alarm (including mail notification) if an
event (i.e. a change of status of a node) occurs.
- You can view the status of your network remotely with a
browser via the Didyma HTTP service.
- The color of the node indicates its status (green is up, red is down and blue is slow).
- Didyma also contains a graphical representation of
the turnaround times in your network.
- Didyma supports DNS.
- Monitoring and alarm functions can be configured for each
node separately.
- Contains reporting functions on up/down and turnaround
times.
- Includes a datamodel to store information
about your nodes. The data is available as XML file.
