A typical Didyma project will go as follows:
(take care that the Hints are enabled, main menu|Help|Hints)
- first, start building your network model:
- add a segment (right mouse button, Add Segment).
- add network address and netmask ( at the segment, right mouse button, Segment
Properties).
- press the Discover button
- drag the discovered nodes to your network.
- you can also build your network manually:
- add segments to your network (right mouse button, Add Segment).
- add nodes to the NetworkView by dragging them from
the Node Icons TabSheet.
- objects can be moved by dragging the lower left gray handle.
- connect objects with each other (keep left mouse button down on an object, move to
another object, release mouse button). This will create an interface of the object.
- to create another network, use right mouse button and select Add Network.
- to switch from one network to another, select the Network Tabsheet and select the
network you wish to view.
- secondly, setup the properties of the nodes
in your network (click right mouse button at a node | Node Properties):
- provide the required values, like name, ip address, etc.
- add the services you would like to monitor.
- finally, add memo's for documentation purposes:
- add a memo (click right mouse button | Add Memo).
- add text to the memo.
- you may also start using the data model:
- set up the data model (Options | Data Model in the main menu).
- add data to the nodes in your network (right mouse button at a node | Node
Data).
